Keeley’n Spotlight: Eric Gower

At Keeley Construction, we empower our people to take their career into their own hands and drive towards their vision. Eric Gower, Chief Surveyor, came in with an idea and has been able to turn that idea into something incredible. The Heavy Civil Infrastructure Group proudly utilizes him and his team to exceed customer expectations.

Eric Gower’s journey with Keeley has been nothing short of a whirlwind. He was brought in by Ron Roellig, VP of Heavy Civil Infrastructure, to build a survey division and it has grown rapidly. He originally spent most of his time in the field, but as he got more requests and more experience, he realized he needed to hire a crew that could dedicate all their time to the field so he could transition mostly to the office. This responsibility and the trust that leadership has placed in him to build up this group has allowed Eric to feel empowered in everything he does.

“Ron and Keeley leadership have really empowered me to build this team from the ground up. They have given me full control to make decisions that I believe benefit the team and the company as a whole. It has been amazing so far and I can’t wait to see what the future holds."

Eric got his first taste of construction when he worked with his dad at The Sterling Company in between his sophomore and junior years of high school. He loved the work that he was doing, so he went back after his junior year and joined the team full time upon his graduation. He has been in the industry ever since, ultimately leading him to Keeley. Through his years of experience, Eric’s favorite thing has always been the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects, being around other trades, and building relationships with others. Seeing a project through from conception, construction, and completion will always leave him with a rewarding feeling and a sense of accomplishment. So, if Eric could give one piece of advice to those just starting out in the industry, it would be:

“Communication is key. Never be afraid to ask a question. Construction is an ever-changing industry and there is always something new to learn, so there are no dumb questions – use your voice!”

As Eric continues to grow in his career and expand his team, he is excited for what is to come. When thinking about the future, Eric sees him growing a large Geospatial Group while also employing and working with Civil Engineers to help further Keeley’s vision of being a true Design-Build partner. As Keeley’ns everyone strives to lift each other up and see each other succeed and Eric loves that everyone really tries for the Power of One. He loves seeing all the groups work together towards a common goal.

“Keeley is a true career destination because everyone is treated with respect. Every single person truly cares about everyone’s health – physically, mentally, financially – and they truly want you to be the best version of yourself. The culture, the people, the teamwork, and the growth make Keeley an absolutely wonderful place to work.”

Eric, thank you for your grit, determination, and passion for taking our Heavy Civil Infrastructure Group and our company to the next level! We are incredibly proud of everything you have built and can’t wait to see where the future takes you.
