Keeley Construction Building Spotlight: Schnucks Eatwell

New Construction | St. Louis, MO | 30,284 SF | February 2023

Local St. Louis grocery chain, Schnuck Markets, Inc., called upon the Keeley Construction Building Group to help renovate and construct their newest Eatwell Market by Schnucks, “a neighborhood store that emphasizes natural and organic foods as well as community events that support customers no matter where they are along their wellness journey.” The Building Group tapped into their previous relationship with Schnuck Markets to deliver a high-quality project, changing the grocery retail landscape for customers in the Chesterfield area.

Schnuck Markets acquired a 30,284 SF former retail space. This space was converted into an Eatwell Market, aligning with Schnuck Markets’ branding and their vision for the store. New construction aspects in the store included metal stud framing, interior finishes, a new office/breakroom, new coolers/freezers, stockroom, new state-of-the-art equipment, modifications to the existing exit corridor, a new fire sprinkler system, and updated exterior façade to reflect Eatwell Market’s vision and mission.

This project was constructed under a tight, six-month timeline, but the Keeley team was able to overcome the tight deadline and the challenges it presented through effective communication, a strong dedication to quality and safety, and innovative solutions that met and even exceeded Schnuck Markets’ expectations. The Keeley team was also able to stay on schedule by self-performing the concrete and rough carpentry work, with Keeley Restoration Services installing the new sidewalk at the front entrance.

The Keeley Building team was proud to work on this project, bringing the first Eatwell Market to life, strengthening their relationship with the Schnuck Markets team.

“Keeley Construction was an integral partner in bringing to life our vision for the new Eatwell Market by Schnucks. Their field teams responded to and managed through numerous changes and challenges keeping us on schedule and allowing us to open this new store for our customers and teammates as planned.” -David Carey, Schnuck Markets Vice President of Design, Construction and Maintenance
