Keeley Construction is serving as the General Contractor for the Lake Dunlap Water Treatment Plant Strainer Improvements project in New Braunfels, Texas. This renovation project focuses on upgrading critical strainer infrastructure while maintaining plant operations, requiring careful sequencing, temporary systems, and precise execution within an active water treatment facility.
The scope includes the installation of a temporary strainer system prior to demolition, allowing uninterrupted operations throughout construction. Keeley will self-perform concrete demolition and placement, steel tying, underground piping, and the installation of a new disc filter system. The temporary system consists of a new strainer foundation, multiple concrete pipe supports, and over 300 linear feet of HDPE piping. Once operational, the existing strainer will be demolished.
Following demolition, Keeley will install new stainless steel piping before relocating the temporary disc filter system into its permanent configuration. This project is scheduled for completion in September 2026.
